The 6th Realm Haus

It’s amusing to me that no matter where I’m going, whether for a night or for a few weeks, I always seek out haunted, historical, or interesting places to visit.

In February, my family and I traveled to Texas for a week, so I turned to Google to research haunted locations near our accommodation. One of the first places that came up in my search was the 6th Realm Haus. The history and paranormal stories surrounding it piqued my interest.

Built in 1868 by A.T. Sengele, it was used as a family home and tin shop. It was later moved to its current location in 1898.

There are 7 confirmed deaths within the home including both Mrs. Sengeles. Interestingly it is said that A.T’s first wife actually had a premonition about her impending death shortly before she passed away.

Today the house is open to tours, and filled with haunted objects, blood paintings, human remains, serial killer letters and quite a few spirits.

The mannequin is said to be haunted. Shadows are said to appear in photos when you take photos with her.

The atmosphere on the way to the first room upstairs on the tour was a complete 180 from what I experienced when I first walked into the house. The air felt heavy, and I suddenly felt “overstimulated.”

The first stop was a room littered with human remains, letters from serial killers, and various haunted objects. Reading letters penned by actual killers definitely sends a chill down your spine.

This room is said to be haunted by a little boy in blue. A rather mischievous spirit, he is known to play and interact with several objects within the room.

The next stop contained a series of paintings that made me feel quite uneasy. Interestingly, when I was reviewing my footage for editing, I had to skip over a lot of the content and images of the paintings because they still made me feel ill. I’m not sure what exactly is invoking that feeling; to be honest, I believe it’s the thought of what the artist might have been going through while creating those images. I experienced similar feelings while visiting the Haunted Museum in Las Vegas, particularly with a blood painting there.

The room is known as Sue’s Room. She is one of the spirits that haunts this area. During an investigation, she informed the owners that she met her fate after being poisoned by her father. The second spirit in the room is known as “Fat Man.” He is described as malevolent and tends to suppress other spirits.

Fun fact: the owners stay at the house and sleep in one of the rooms on the tour. For me, that room definitely had a lighter feeling. It is said to be haunted by Sarah, a prostitute during her life, who is known to be rather passive and likes to touch people’s legs. However, some visitors do tend to experience scratches in this room.

If you’re interested in a paranormal experience or some local history in Victoria, Texas, I highly recommend scheduling a tour of the 6th Realm Haus.

A huge thank you to the owners of the 6th Realm Haus for allowing us to visit and for giving us a tour!
